“Look Up! Get Up! & Never Give Up!” To follow Jesus doesn’t mean to be perfect and to never fail. It means that when we see our weakness and failings, instead of giving up the fight for goodness we “look up” to Jesus who is our Redeemer and Savior, we “get up” off the ground and we commit to “never give up” following Him and leading others to Him.
Justin Fatica of Hard as Nails Ministries challenges the youth of the world to strive to be heroes for others in order to lead them to Jesus who is our hope, our light and our strength. He emphasizes that heroes are not perfect, but strive every day to be better, in the face of peer pressure and the pull of the world, strengthened by faith and family, daily prayer, the Mass and the Sacraments.
In this hour episode based on step 7 of his "Win it All" book, Justin gives the youth three challenges to help them begin today to be a hero: Be Weak. In humility, admit your sinfulness, weakness and failure and “look up” to Jesus for forgiveness and strength to “get up” and follow Him in faithfulness. Make a Commitment. In realizing your own sinfulness and weakness, make a commitment to Jesus to stop sinning and to “never give up” the fight against your own sin, and to be forgiving to others who, in their weakness, hurt you. If you can’t change for yourself, change for the suffering people in the world. Get out of yourself and think of the good of others. Make a commitment to follow Jesus, and never give up the fight, for the good of others.
